Flea stuff for the barn cat

We trapped, neutered, vaxed and wormed a wandering tom cat and still have him confined for food and care. He needs flea stuff. Frontline Plus still works here, and it’s what my vet recommends for our dogs and cats.

Does Pet Armor Plus do the same job? Same ingredients but cheaper.

Hopefully this kitty will stick around and we can keep feeding and treating him. He’s very sweet.

It should, it’s just a generic, basically.

I use the pet armour plus on our barn cats and it seems to work pretty well.

I use Revolution on my barn cat. It is a more comprehensive med that controls intestinal worms, ear mites, heart worms and fleas.

Frontline (fipronil) isn’t working at all here. Tried Cheristin, which is a new topical, and it is actually working for a full month. The active ingredient is a sister molecule to Comfortis.

Thanks, all. Coming from CO, I am not at all up to speed with the flea stuff, other than knowing some of what you can get OTC can be VERY VERY bad. Just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing something on the Pet Armor.

HT and Cooper, Frontline is what the vet recommends and what I have available OTC. This TNR hasn’t seen my regular vet (he was neutered at a TNR clinic), so I can’t get a script for Revolution.

you can get revolution online, no script needed…discount pet meds…takes a good long while for shipping, but it’s great stuff, especially with controlling ear mites, which were a big problem in my barn cat/feral cat population…costs more, yes, but treats soooooo much more than just ticks nd fleas, and IF you need to treat for earmites, the drops are extremely uncomfortable for the cats, and after dosing, it takes a while for the cats to trust you again, especially about getting near their ears…that is, the revolution eliminates the need for eardrops(wasn’t sure if that was clear)
