We have a year old White Shepherd (80lb) and did a couple of treatments with Advantix II with no problems, but on the third treatment she developed a full body oozing rash. It happened the day after the treatment and nothing in her diet changed, but now I’m wondering what to try instead. Any thoughts? We don’t have a noticeable flea problem yet but we refinitely need something that is effective against ticks.
I have two that have reacted to Advantix II (and two others that did not). I switched to Seresto collars this year for them. I would be careful with anything, now, though. Just because it’s a different product doesn’t mean some of the ingredients aren’t the same.
Did you show this to your vet? They might have an idea what dogs are more likely to react to (the carrier oil, or one of the ingredients) and help you avoid it.
