Fleece lined blanket

I need something in between a sheet and a midweight blanket for my horse, who isn’t clipped.

I have one from Horze that I love but it doesn’t fit my mare well.

Does anyone else make something similar?

I think Schneider’s does a couple of fleece lined turnout and stable rugs.

Why would you want fleece lined? On my horses I just get blanket rubs with fleece because it grabs the hair…

Bucas blankets are fleece lined though.

I have always had horrid experiences with trying to put fleece next to the skin like that. Every time is has pulled back and rubbed, plus the static. I would be more likely to look at either a 100g or 80g blanket. Horseware makes an 100gram in the Amigo and Rambo and while I do not have any experiences with them, Schneiders makes either a 50 or 80gram blanket.
The new Weatherbeeta Comfitec Premier Trio blanket is also a 100gram shell that comes with a 300gram liner.

I have the Schneiders blanket in question and the fleece is under a nylon layer like a regular turnout. I love that blanket and get so much use out of it.

I have a Schneider’s stable blanket like that. I think it’s at least 10 years old, been used on two horses and has held up brilliantly (still looks new). It’s a great weight because it’s in between a sheet and a blanket and is very versatile.

ETA: I would NEVER use fleece directly on a horse for a blanket lining. As others have said, it’s hard on the coat and impossible to get the hair out of.

Thanks to those of you who answered my question!

I hate fleece lined–I inadvertently ordered one in a custom blanket several years ago. I only use it for trailering or supervised wearing.

The problem is, shavings (or mud, or whatever) stick to the fleece like crazy. Sometimes even through multiple washings, and then said shavings irritate and itch like mad.

For in-between weather, I use a light weight (100 gram) nylon lined blanket. All the benefits of not-fleece  with more warmth than a sheet, but less than a standard medium weight blanket.

I have a fleece lined rain sheet from Horze (name is Avalanche I think). Love it, with none of the aforementioned issues. A friend has the micro fleece lined Buccas. That blanket is absolutely wonderful, but is at a different price point

Like Element Farm I have a lightweight turnout (Amigo) that I use for my unclipped pony. I also have a lovely wool sheet that I got at Smith Worthington for times when I need more warmth, but that baby doesn’t go out in the mud
