My mare is extremely sensitive and developing rubs on her face from her bridles. (I have tried a padded bridle, one with the anatomical browband, and I mostly combat this by wearing a bonnet that fits under the crown.) However, this summer the issue has progressed further, and she actually developed a scab along her crown! I hate even admitting this, but I’m trying to figure out what won’t rub my sweet girl’s face! (She has an old scar on her crown developed before I purchased her from the track of two semi-bald patches behind her ears.)
I am trying to figure out how to battle this. I actually believe some of the rubs are being derived from her fly mask as they match the nose and crown areas, even though these are fleece lined and loosely fitted as well. But now, can you buy the actual fleece inserts that can fit along the cheek, nose, or crown pieces? I’m wondering if I can go to a Hobby Lobby and make them.
