Fly Ear Bonnets With Velcro, Rather Than Ties?

Oh shopping gurus, I come to you for help! I’m trying to find some fly ear bonnets with the Velcro closures that go around the bridle, rather than those with the long ties. These do exist, right? Anyone have any great leads on where to find them? (I found some a year back for $60 apiece, but would really like to find something a bit more affordable than that!)

you could remove the ties then hot glue the Velcro loop fasteners to bonnet (wife used to work backstage theater doing wardrobe … nearly every fix was hot glue)

None of mine have anything hooking them onto hte bridle. I think one cheap one did have loops/ties, but I cut them off. My nicer custom ones all have nothing. They lie under the crown piece of the bridle and that holds them down fine. We’ve never had problems with anything shifting or moving.

My last show one had little loops and snaps for fastening, but my schooling one has nothing, and has never moved, so I just bought a new one for showing this year, also with no fasteners of any kind, I’m confident it will stay put.

There are lots of people on Etsy who make them, at a variety of price points. You could probably find someone to make a custom one however you like with any kind of fasteners.

I cut the strings off my bonnets but they did shift. I sewed velcro to it, took about 10 minutes

This bonnet has velcro. Can’t see it in the pictures, but I own one.

Heck, just do some iron-on velcro tabs.

The nicer custom ones actually do have something. If you look closely there is a larger opening in the crocheting (spelling??) around the edge somewhere straight down from the ear on both sides. It’s where you stick the throat latch piece through, at least that is what DLC says, maybe it’s just their bonnets that have that?

I have one from Horze that has velcro tabs. I really like it. I’ve never had a problem with it coming off and I’ve done dressage, jumpers, and cross country with it on my horse. No problems.
