Fly masks! Need to fit TB type face and have nose cover

Well, not much more to say than the title. I have a mare with a horse long head, but narrower so the masks don’t fit right unless there’s just a small amount of velcro attached and the rest of the tab(s) hang free. Not Crusader or Shires. I need a nose because she’s got easily burning pink on her nose. She has itchy eyes so rubs and that’s how the masks pop off. I like the spandex ones with the bug eyes, but no nose coverage. Any ideas anybody?

I have had good luck with the Rambo Plus. I have had no problems with him keeping it on and it has a removable nose cover. https://www.smartpakequine.com/pt/ra…-flymask-10224 I love the design and how it stays away from the eyes, especially since he has eye issues.

I had to return the first one I bought because the horse size in this mask is massive. The cob size fits him very well and he’s 16.1 with good bone and a refined head.

I just got this one free with fly spray, and it fits really pretty nicely. Here is the deal with the fly spray.

I have really liked the Horsey Shades mask that I have for my horse, and they come in multiple sizes/styles.

I am going to second the Rambo plus. I had a mare with a chronic eye condition and she wore these for years. Never any rubs and she was comfortable. I did put a little extra padding around the ear openings in the summer when her coat was fine, just to add a little softness. But she had to wear it 24/7 and I would not have done that otherwise.

I like the shires fly mask that has a line of strings or tassels that keep fly away from the nose. My gelding hates nose covers and works hard to destroy any fly mask that has one. But the shires mask is just great.

Another vote for the Rambo Plus. I use one on my ottb and it’s held up great. Most other fly masks that I use I run into the same problem of a small amount of velcro attached and the rest of the tabs hang free.

I’ve had good luck with the cob-size Cashels for my QH/Saddlebred cross with a jughead. They stay on and they last the full season- sometimes longer- while his old ones didn’t.

I recently got a Noble Outfitters Guardsman mask. It has a sort of frame (it’s not made of anything hard - more of a doubled-up seam of fabric) that tents the mask out from the eyes. It has a detachable nose piece. The velcro is double-locking and I find quite long so there is lots of adjustability. This is the one I got: https://www.nobleoutfitters.ca/collections/animal-for-the-horse/products/guardsman-fly-mask-with-ears

Size-wise, I bought the “horse” size and it fits perfectly. My gelding is also TB, although his head is not narrow (it is long but he doesn’t have a tapered muzzle). There is a sizing chart on the website that shows you how to measure for fit.
