Fly predators - Arbico vs Spalding

Any preference or recent experience? I’ve used both in the past, but neither the last two years. I fed Simplifly last year, with no wasps, and had few flies. Got catalogs today from both and thought I would ask here for opinions before I throw them away!

We have used Spalding fly predators for many years. They work amazing with out the use of chemicals. I have also found the customer service at Spalding to be amazing.

I have only used Spalding and been happy with them.

Random question about Fly Predators. Do they also help with stink bug populations?

That would be a good question for Spalding. I am sure they would gladly answer it if you sent them an email.
I would guess the answer is no.

I have used Spalding for years with no problems. Good customer service. Don’t know about the stink bug issue, but I’m sure they could answer that question for you.

I have used fly predators from Spaulding for years. They work and I’ve never seen the need to look elsewhere. I agree that their customer service is terrific. On the stink bug issue, my answer is No. We have stink bugs and the presence of fly predators has made no difference. Some years the stink bugs are worse than others. The winters seem to make a difference with the stink bugs, not the fly predators. If they offered a product call Stink Bug Predators, I would happily buy it.

We have used both.
The fellow from Spaulding came here a year or two ago and explained that their predators were more all encompassing, took care of more kinds of flies, while the competitor only handled one kind, or something to that effect.

I expect we may use Spaulding this year again.

Fly predators sure make a clear difference for us, but not everyone thinks they do for them, maybe it depends on the region.

I’ve always used Fly Eliminators (Arbico), and have no problems with delivery or customer service. For me, they work as well as the Predators (Spaulding), but are cheaper.

They also offer a free trial: http://www.arbico-organics.com/category/free-trial

I have used both in the past and have always had a good experience with Spaulding. I have had a rotten experience with Arbico, they overcharged me and took lots of effort and time to get a refund. I can understand making a mistake, but not a flip attitude and ignoring my inquiries from customer service.

I’ve used Arbico for years with excellent results, essentially no flies after the very start of spring.

I’ve used Arbico for about 10 years and have been very happy. Excellent customer service. When I had a batch not hatch quickly, they overnighted me two to replace it.

Love My Preditor Flies

I’ve used the Spaulding fly preditors for about 6 years and love them. Hardly a fly! You have to start them off early in the season though, and keep them going. But they do their job well.

I have used Arbico for years with no problems. I know they have replaced batches in the past that weren’t quite right without any trouble.

I almost didn’t order anything this year thinking that I can start a feed-through mid-season if flies became a problem, but then I decided that I’m not that much of a risk-taker  I ordered Spalding last week to give them a try. Neither of them are really all that expensive in the grand scheme of things.

Fly predators - Arbico vs Spalding

March Biological sells the same predators as Spaulding but the units have more as the same price

I have used both with good results. I did find that the predators from Spalding seemed to hatch more consistently than the Arbico. The $30 a month that I spend on predators is the same as two bottles of fly spray. They are well worth it to me.

Got my email that first order had been shipped(Spalding) had been shipped. Get a jump on the fly population before it magically becomes warm in the next few weeks.

Don’t I wish, if any one knows please post, I hate those things.

I went to another brand and they didn’t have as much live larva so I switched back to spalding

Spalding Fly Predators will not work on stink bugs.
