My horse (a WB/TB cross) used to have a Hug fly sheet and it fit him pretty well and it had only one belly strap. He destroyed that one recently and I’ve had trouble fitting him with other blankets and sheets. I bought a new Hug sheet; this one has two belly straps. It does not fit him very well at all. It slides backwards off his butt. The two belly straps seem to be set too far back behind his elbows. I don’t know if they’re causing the sliding or not. I’ve adjusted the neck to fit but it still slides backwards.
Has Hugs just changed their fit in general? Or is it the belly straps? Or the material (it’s different from the old)?
For comparison, I think the only TO blanket that would fit him properly would be a Rambo Wug with its high neck.
I don’t know where to go from here. It seems as though his shoulders are set too far forward for most blankets. (We have difficulty with saddle fit as well and need point billets and a curvy girth to reach far enough forward for the girth gullet behind the elbows.)
