how do you keep your fly whisk from getting tangled? I have tried show sheen, washing and conditioning it and applying detangler, etc., but all are very temporary solutions and I’m getting tired of it being a matted ball of hair every other ride that takes significant time to untangle. Help!
I haven’t used one in a while, but I’ve never had that happen to my fly whisk. I’ll be interested to see if others’ whisks get tangled. Sorry…no help…lol.
Mine does not get tangled. I just hang in straight down in the trailer between uses. Never done anything to it between rides. I have had it maybe 8 years.
I haven’t had problems with mine either. Is it real hair or synthetic?
I am guessing it must be synthetic. I bought it at a tack shop in another state while I was on a trip. I think I will definitely upgrade for next spring!
Mine is real horse hair and doesn’t tangle, although I have spritzed it with show sheen a couple of times over the years just to keep it in ‘nice’ condition
Mine is real horse hair too
If you would like alternatives, I use a tree branch when I need one - free & never tangles !
