I stumbled across this website today and thought it was a timely thing to share 
It has a collection of photos of newborn foals showing the range in the “fancy” colors at birth. Palomino, grullo, all the ones that can be a bit tricky to see in the foal coat.
Seriously needs all the At mentions deleted. The brown gene test doesn’t exist.
Ah I didn’t read closely. I got swept away by the adorable photos which I think have some documentary value anyhow. Would be nice to see baby and adult photos of the same horse.
No worries! There are some cuties on that site. If you Facebook the equine colour genetics site is great for learning about colours on! I’ve learned to keep my fingers off the keyboard and just read there. Not a touchy feely group, but very educational.
My foal was born yesterday and at first I was like is she chestnut?! Nope, bay.
