Hoping that you won’t be affected by the storms. I have folks around German-town. No basements there apparently because of the water table? Anyway, good luck tonight and tomorrow. Looks as if Mississippi and Alabama will get the worst of it.

Thanks, @skydy! I’m in Cookeville, so I should be north and east of the worst of the weather. We’ve had more than our fair share of rough weather lately between last year’s EF-4 and this year’s ice storm.
NOAA NWS predicts a possibility if 1"-2" of rain for Cookeville tonight. Yikes. https://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=36.1619&lon=-85.4998
That’s actually not a lot of rain in a night for us. We average 54" of precipitation per year (U.S. average is 38")! One perk of my entire property being on the side of a giant hill is that drainage is absolutely NOT a problem for me. Lol.
That’s good to hear. We had 2 feet of snow 2 days ago. Heavy wet snow. We’ll be dealing with it for quite awhile. It’s melting in the day and freezing at night.
I think she is in foal to Take Charge Indy. This foal isn’t ours (just our responsibility, lol).
Make that Commissioner, not Take Charge Indy. Nice big colt born at 10pm last night. I love when they foal before midnight! No star on this one, just a few white hairs on in his left nostril. Looks like a booger!
6 colts, 1 filly. Lots of boys this year!
Waiting on my mare to have her first foal! 314 days two days ago. Foal is out of my prelim eventer (Windfall/Avignon II) and is by EH Herzensdieb
Sassy little bugger!
Yay! That’s a kissin’ spot on his nose, @EventerAJ! Can’t wait to see pics of him up & about. How many do you have left to go? I’ve lost count But you can also put me on the list wishing I could have Sheza’s colt. <3 love him!
He was a handsome horse. As you know, standing in Saudi Arabia now.
Looks like a nice colt. It’ll be nice to see him up and about to see how much his sire has influenced him.
How is your filly? Hope her swelling has resolved.
Looking forward to following her progress.
We did, thanks, @skydy. The system ended up losing a lot of steam before it made its way into TN. Got almost 3" of rain last night, though, and it rained off and on most of today, too. Sigh. At least the pastures are looking REALLY good for not-quite-spring.
Arielle has decided to hit pause on her progress. No real changes at all since the big jumps she made Sun/Mon/Tue. Which is a good thing, considering she’s at 317 days today. Now that she’s slowed down, I’m guessing we’re roughly a week or two out from baby time. Looks like my “put down straw and pack the foaling kit to slow her down” theory worked out. Lol.
Bella’s filly is looking better tonight. Swelling has localized to an area about the size of a tennis ball.
I really like the Commissioner colt…but then again I would, by AP Indy. I hated that Winstar dumped him so soon (making foals like this one nearly worthless commercially), but that’s what they do. This colt could grow up to be a nice eventer though, he would match nicely with my Saketini foals.
Well, hello there, Handsome! Good looking little man!
Young 4yo mare Tizlot (by Tiznow) is getting close at 339 days. In foal to Khozan. This is a maiden, and she’s only been here about 10 days. Not super excited for this one…the mare is a bit immature mentally (plus DON’T TOUCH MY UDDER!) and the thought of another Khozan devil colt makes me hope this one is a filly. The mare was waxed this morning, and restless, but mostly because she wants to be out with her friends. Kept me up all night bashing on her buckets, banging the stall door and having a hissy fit. Maybe she’ll settle down and grow up with a foal by her side!
Here are some better pics of the young ones, born 3-10 and 3-17.
Texas Red - Ultimate Class colt
Commissioner - Harlan Shuffle colt
Oh my! I like both of those boys, too! A lot of handsome men at your place!
