Foaling cameras

Anyone using a reasonably prices system? Recommendations? Looking for wireless system.

define reasonable

I have a basic wireless cam from
http://www.foalingcamera.com/
it is linked to a video capture unit and old laptop in my garage (about 3-400 feet) connected to the internet by cable to my router

I bought a wireless IP camera ($75 on ebay, Foscam) this year and it worked awesome! It has to be able to receive a wireless internet connection, but my house is close enough to my barn that it was able connect to the wireless. It was AWESOME! You can access it from anywhere, from any internet browser. I used it so I could keep an eye on things while I was at work.

We got ours from RosTech (http://www.rostech.com/). Started with one camera 3 years ago and added a second this year. Reception is pretty good but we have a large metal shed and metal corn crib between house and barn so it could be better. Plan on adding an antenna on the house next year to draw signal in better.
Not sure how prices go for other systems but these seemed reasonable…I don’t remember what the original system cost but the second was $400ish.
Kudos to them too- I decided my mares were looking too close for comfort on a Sun, ordered second camera Mon and it was here by Weds with no extra shipping. Easy installation and my hubby had it up and running by Weds PM. Came just in time- mares foaled Thurs PM and Fri PM.

Logitech Master system. Works fantastic and not exceedingly expensive. They also have an ipad and iPhone app so you can keep an eye out from anywhere.

We got ours from http://www.securityvideosolutions.com/. I could not be happier with it. It was not overly expensive and the video quality is awesome.

Mine as well… very happy with my camera (my room where I connect it to my computer to remote in from work and watch any mares getting ready to birth is placed is a death zone for cell phones and wireless signals, but if placed a certain way I can see the picture very strongly). Next year planning on adding addition cameras.

Got mine there too! Maureen was so helpful with the setup and troubleshooting a couple issues that came up. I recommend you call and talk to her…

I got one from Amazon Foscam FI8905W Outdoor Wireless/Wired IP Camera 12 mm Lens (22° to 40° Viewing Angle)

it was 113 but now 85, it allows you to add multiple camera’s too,has a great range, horses are up hill and through some trees from the house but never had a problem

I did notice some issues with a lot of rain having to unplug/plug back in a couple times, but other than that it’s been great
