Has anyone used synchill or perfect prep for their green horse? I also saw the new G- Chill which looked interesting. Would love to see anyone’s experience with that. Do any of them help them focus when at horse shows? I am trying to give him the best show experience. He doesn’t need to be quieter just trying to give him something to help keep the nerves lower.
Is it a hunter or a jumper? I ask because I found that my wonderful mare (in the sense that I don’t have to lunge, medicate in any way to show or go somewhere new) focuses 110% when she has a soundproof bonnet on. I’ll hack her at the shows without it and there’s a noticeable difference when she has it on. I don’t do it for spookiness reasons. If you have a hunter, obviously you could use earplugs too. Maybe a cheaper, easy solution (you don’t have to wait for the supplement to take effect).
We did use the perfect prep product Training Day at my old barn, but it’s expensive and I’m always unsure if those things actually work.
Thanks for the reply. He is a hunter and wears ear plugs.
Just wanted to give him some extra help at the show because the whole atmosphere is a lot. This is why I am hoping some people will comment on experiences with focus/calming supplements.
In that case, we do give perfect prep (the tube kind) to all of our show horses. Every barn I’ve ridden at has given PP products, as I mentioned above. They live on the Training Day and the tubes are only given at the shows. Worth a try!
