Foldable/collapsible cart for shows

I have seen people at shows pulling nifty collapsible four-wheeled carts to haul gear from the trailer to the stabling area. I’d like to get one. There are so many choices, though, (dimensions, weight capacity, etc.) that I don’t know where to start. It would be for one horse and rider’s worth of gear, although it would be great to have some extra room to help out other people.

If you have one that you like, tell me about it.

ETA I think “wagon” describes what I want more than “cart” does.

start with the terain. What will you be dragging this thing across most of the time.

I would not go too big, the weight might be on wheels, but it still has to be moved (unless you want to hitch the horse to it) I don’t know what you have looked at, but the fold up ones from the camping department should do the job and last you long enough as long as you maintain them.

we have a platform cart with foldable handle works great for us hauling stuff into the show’s barns

We have a bunch of 3by3 stall mats that are easily to transport on the puppy, show trunk fits also.

updated to remove photos as it is not of the type desired by OP

That one would be impractical for me. I’m looking for something more of this type.

Beach Wagons. I believe the one we have is an Ozarc brand. Great for hauling around a variety of things, currently my three legged dog is getting hauled around in it while his only hind leg recovers from a muscle sprain.

I purchased mine off Marketplace that is similar to one posted. Harbor Freight also has them.

I have one of these and it’s my used piece of equipment around the farm and when traveling with horses.

Super useful.

Are you talking about the one I posted the picture of, or the one clanter did?

I’m trying to figure out the best size to use for horse shows. Can you give me an idea what the dimensions of your are?

I bought a folding wagon at Dick’s Sporting Goods a few years ago and it’s been great. We use it to haul things in and out of horse shows and into the hotel room. If I can’t get the truck down to the barn I can load it up with feed and other supplies. It’s also made a few trips to the beach. For less than $100 it’s a great buy.

What are the dimensions?

I have two wagons like you posted, one for the beach and one for my kids sports stuff. I purchased one at Harbor Freight and one off Marketplace.

I have one wagon like I think Clanter posted - pic was gone - that I purchased at Harbor Freight.

Sizes are listed.

I have this wagon- it’s held up for 7 years of going to endurance rides and carting stuff over rough ground. It holds a lot and folds up nicely

I have this exact wagon, got it for a good deal a couple summers ago during a Kohls sale. I ABUSE this thing and it is pretty tough. Moreso than I expected!

photos back, I had removed these earlier as it was not of the style OP desired

These are call platform carts with wheels. This one is 47.25 x 24.0 x 37.8125 inches, Capacity is 770 pounds, it weighs 46 pounds/ It is Northern Tool item 62448. Normal cost is $240 currently on sale for $139 (at least here)

handle folds

we use this to transport the show trunks (heavy things that they are) and recently bought a bunch of 3by3 stall mats to use at shows.

In the past we would rent stall mats and bring in are own shavings (the shows now are not allowing us to bring our own shavings but are charging at least $10 per bag) (we used this cart to move the shavings we brought from the trailer to our stalls)

These light weight very durable mats we found on an online market place listing of a local person who buys up industrial surplus then resells. These mats were from one of the huge distribution warehouse around here where they were used to provide a cushioned work area for people packing boxes.

Yep, same type. Yours sounds nicer than mine. :joy: It’s my most used item on the farm other than my tractor. I stack hay bags, water buckets, shaving bags, literally everything on it to move them.
