has anyone installed a folding saddle rack in their trailer? Did it stay up during travel? I’m turning my gooseneck dressing room into a simple weekender but still need to bring tack etc… straight load so no rear tack.
I don’t have great confidence that they would stay up, especially since they collapse in the tack stall all the time (at least at my daughter’s lesson barn). There is a very useful Facebook group called Horse Trailer Conversion II that is worth looking at for great ideas.
Yes and yes.
We have a two-horse stock/slant trailer with a dressing room wall that folds to the side to open up the whole trailer (so far very handy for cramming it full of hay). So we wanted all our organizer pieces to remove or fold flat. The racks we got look a lot like this (but were less than 1/2 the cost at a “bargain barn” sort of place) and have worked well so far: https://www.millbryhill.co.uk/equestrian-c4/stubbs-folding-saddle-rack-p857
Yup, I have one in my trailer. It stays up when travelling just fine. But I do have to run a bungee around it, to keep the saddle/s from falling off it while travelling.
thanks all. I already belong to the facebook COnversion group. Seems they mostly convert into full LQ’s, lots of good ideas.
