Hi all - so if you noted my previous post my mare is getting her 12 incisors removed (Thursday) due to EOTRH… being a worrywart Momma I have compiled some questions for the vet doing the procedure and wanted to see if anyone could think of anything additional i needed to add
Here’s what I have:
-What will she need to eat afterwards? Will that be permanent or temporary?
-Will she need to continue on the chlorhexidine spray? Or any other kind of rinse or flush?
-Did you do x-rays to ensure that all bone was removed?
-Should her dental checkups be increased to 2x/year now as opposed to 1x/year?
-((My barn uses hay nets, I have no choice on that)) - Will she be okay to eat out of her hay net? Can we move from one with 1" holes to one with 3-4" holes?
-Do I need to provide any additional forage? What about her hay? We already wet it slightly, do we need to do anything else for that?
-What post op care will she require? Any follow up vet visits required?
-How will I know that she is struggling or having problems with anything? What should I keep an eye out for?
