Food for thoughts No Judges No Competitions

Whoa. Soccer coaching or Little League umpiring not involve criticism? Since when? OMG. Better wear your helment when coaching or reffing any sport!

I have never ever ever met a dressage judge who was offered a lot of rides to judge who turned down that offer.

Ever.

Never,ever.
I’ve met several judges that regularly get overbooked and have to turn down judging offers monthly. I also met several judges who are booked almost 2 years in advance.

I’m sorry, but what type of competition related hobby were they hoping to take up that was not going to involve criticism sometimes? Soccer coaching? Little league umpiring?
yeah… sorry little league is nuts! Those crazy soccer mom’s are worse than the fans at UFC.

and I agree w/ the backbone statement. Deal… i do QC as a young woman amongst veryyyyy old construction workers, frequently telling them to rip out stuff spending thousands of dollars. It gets old and you hear everything, but well… its gotta be done!

So Yeaaah. Sorry if you chose to judge, chose to deal, I am sure its not easy but well… nothing worth anything is easy. And I for one am extremly grateful even if I get lousy marks… more to work on for me.

Quality Control and a rider??..you should apply to be a consultant to the FEI Dressage interim committee
