Just like any other normal color - gray. Anything with dark skin, going gray, will look the same once done. It’s the light skinned ones who can be very tricky

LOL duh… I should have thought of that. You know how some grey’s have darker grey dapples… I was thinking the dapples would be palomino instead of dark grey and then go grey.

Well, a given pali CAN have darker golden dapples if it’s early enough in the graying process. Buckskins too. It’s just a matter the timing of replacing the original color with something darker.
