For all those who think hoof boots are only for horses who don't do real work

Here’s the preliminary stats from last weekend’s Tevis on Easy Boots (it doesn’t take into account other boots like Renegades)

This is not final but very, very close. Looks like there were 36 of the 87 finishers in Easyboots or 41% of the field. 47 Easybooted riders started the race and 36 Easybooted riders finished for a 76.59% completion rate. I believe the overall completion rate for this years event was 52% if my memory is correct. 2016 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, 4th place and 6th place were in Easyboots. 11 horses in the top 20 finishers in Easyboots. Haggin Cup was in Easyboots. Proud to have Easyboots on the 2010 Haggin Cup winner, 2011 Tevis Cup and Haggin Cup winner, 2012 Tevis Cup and Haggin Cup winner, 2013 Tevis Cup Winner, 2014 Tevis Cup and Haggin Cup winner, 2015 Haggin Cup winner and 2016 Tevis and Haggin Cup winners.

Does your report specify which type of Easyboot? There are a number of different models. It would be nice to know if there was a preferred style. Glove, Trail, Classic, Epic…etc.

I can imagine there were quite a few Renegades in the group as well.

Boots on that trail is a smart move.

It doesn’t. I got these numbers off the FB page of someone I know who was on the Easy Boot glue team at Tevis. If they break it down further, I’ll post it

The Tevis stats are for the Glue On Boots. Glue On recommended for hard 100 milers. Lots of easy 100’s and 50’s and LD’s finished and won in Flip Flops and Gloves.

The terrain at Tevis is something to consider as it might be different in other parts of the country. Here in Arizona (and the southwest) the terrain can be extremely rocky like Tevis.
