"For Pleasure" offspring ..

Who has some? What mares does he cross best with? Did you breed for the commercial market or to keep? Does he produce Ammy friendly rides or more Pro rides?

Does he have any hunter offspring out there or all jumpers?

What weaknesses does he bring to the table if any?

Do his foals command a good dollar vaue if bred to the right mares?

I’d love to see pictures of some offspring as babies and as growing youngsters as well as competition horses

Thank you!

I should have also asked - what is his semen quality like as well?

Thanks!

I have one!

I have a yearling filly by For Pleasure out of my Quidam/Cassini/Caretino mare. I imported her already in foal to FP, the semen was very good and she took on the first dose. My filly is not super tall but has a lot of substance, my mare is a tank. For Pleasure doesnt produce size/height. Mine has an easy trainable mind, very brave, independant and not spooky. More of a flat kneed mover but definately scope for more than just the hunter ring. She is only 1 but I think she will be very easy in all respects.

For Pleasure? Top jumper, bred for jumpers, I doubt too many people are breeding for hunters with him, everyone would be breeding the “dream”. I mean, he won over 1.8 million euros.
If they are bred to the right mares, with the right damlines, and actual performance results, they will be pretty popular with the performance breeders.

He is Furioso line, which isnt dull, combined with Grannus. Intelligent, strong minded, combined with Grannus who was said to walk a fine line between madness and genius. Exactly what you would want if all goes well in the game of breeding, to make a world champion.
He isnt Grannus mind, but he isnt Capitol Holsteiner mind either.

He lives up to his breeding, which is to breed top jumping genes.
Google any top jumper called “For” anything, and you will find pix /info on his babies. I believe he has over 15 licensed Hanno sons alone.

Diva has had two by him, I bet they will be all that and more ( jumpers).
Semen is fine if your vet is good.

I think that Karen DiCaro had a really nice one this year from her good Corland mare. I am sure she’d love to talk about her!

I have a granddaughter, that I suspect will make up to be a nice hunter. She is by the FP son, Federalist and out of a turf type TB mare that has Precipitation, the sire of Furioso closer than most in a pedigree.

Here is a current video of my filly,

I personally would be more inclined to buy a nice For Pleasure rather than breed to him. The For Pleasures that I have had experience were not ammy friendly and required a tactful ride. I think what is most disappointing about him is that what made For Pleasure so special was his amazing heart and that is the one thing he does not seem to pass on to his offspring. I’m sure there are a million lower level hunters and jumpers out there and the owners would disagree with me but I am referring to the top jumper levels. For the number of mares he bred there aren’t too many upper level jumpers and the ones that are, are all with top riders

Dacia Peters-Imperato stands For Play by For Pleasure. I have a two year old by For Play and just bred back to him. My filly For Kick’s dam is a 16.0 Han. by Kalypso but my filly will finish at about 16.3 - 17 hands and is just under 16.1 now. She placed 4th of 12 a few weeks ago at Upperville and is a tall, white-splashed chestnut as is her sire and grandsire. She is sensitive and smart, but sensible and not flighty. Very, very nice movement - nice enough for a dressage career. Carries herself uphill, suspended big trot, very good canter, scopy jump through the chute. I liked this match well enough to just breed Kleo back to For Play.

Diane - do you have a picture of your girl that you can post please?

Thanks so much!

For Kicks

TrueColours, I sent a PM since I don’t know how to post photos!http://www.chronofhorse.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif

Thanks Six #'s…your Federalsit filly is lovely!

My Corland mare has a For Pleasure filly this year. I can’t say enough good things about this filly…

So far she has been very laid back, sweet and sensible…loves any type of attention much like her Mom.

My Corland mares Balou foal was also much like this as a foal as well.

The For Pleasure semen was of good quality and my mare caught with one dose…and a of course a very dedicated repro vet/friend that inseminated very close to ovulation always helps as well!

I have been impressed with the For Pleasures I have seen or worked with over the years… never heard or had any issues with them being difficult.

TC new pictures of my filly are posted on my facebook page.

About the buying one part, totally agree, because then you see what you get.
And for sure, none of his offspring have matched him, but really, what are the chances…

He has not had that many offspring though. As of 2011 he only had 362 Hannoverian get, and only 91 of those were mares of 3 or older.

At least there is one here who would disagree with the above:

I’m not saying there aren’t nice For Pleasures. Just saying that the ones you see competing in big classes are ridden by the likes of Renee Tebel and Christian Ahlmann. Those 2 will bring out the fear of god in any beast

I watched a typical For Pleasure today at a show in a young jumper class. Pretty, chestnut, lots of white. A good well known rider was on her. She was fast, scopey, careful, the whole package. Jumps a beautiful first round. Come to the jump off and throws in a stop for no reason. She reminded me of Daniel Blumans Fatalis Fatum. All the scope, but at the moment you need him, something is missing

I helped set the jumps for a really nice FP mare last winter at WEF, schooling for the lower level jumpers with a young ammy rider. No evidence whatever of the type of problem Jewels describes.

FF isn’t a FP, is he? But it could be argued that DB has come a long way from where he began in the GPx, due in large part to the capabilities of his horse, who may be wiser than his rider at times–the ‘missing’ element isn’t always horsepower, but horse sense…just saying…

We’ve got a G-line Hano mare and I’m kind of hooked on For Play as a stallion. The mare is an amazing jumper (maxed standards at inspection easily, ~5’) and I really liked his gaits and jump. DW isn’t sold and has two others that she likes. I’ll sugest that we arm wrestle for it, lol.

My For Play filly was born this morning! She is absolutely beautiful (chestnut with a white blaze, just like daddy!), and so far has been quite agreeable and easygoing. I bred her for eventing, so we’ll see what happens, but with For Pleasure on her daddy’s side, and Babamist on her dam’s hopefully she can jump!

Babble - she sounds fabulous!!! And with bloodlines like that, you canr lose!

All the very best with her and please post pictures when you can …

Thanks True Colors! I was too exhausted to post pictures last night!

Let’s see if these work…
