FOR THOSE OF YOU ASKING WHAT THE RUST BREECHES WOULD LOOK LIKE...

Love the rust, always have!

Had a grey coat I wore with rust breeches for years and it was always my favorite. I’ve been waiting and waiting for them to come back (finally! yeah!)

Thanks to the one that posted the Ariat rust from 123Tack!

Anyone riding in the TS french blues in the jumpers?? I seriously have my eye on these…

This just confirms how much I detest rust breeches. Beautiful pony, capable rider… ugly breeches:p

Better with dark saddles!

I really like rust breeches, but I think they look best when worn in combination with dark tack. The current saddle hues (the reddish/orange and the lighter brown/oakbark/newmarket colors) tend to “compete” with the rust breeches…not flattering.

Beautiful!

Rust breeches are beautiful!
I would LOVE for rust breeches to come back “in”…I just can’t keep light colored breeches clean and get overheated running around with other pants or an apron on over them between classes.

Well it’s about time.

What did it take 13 years to come back? My last hunter show was in '96 at Chateau Elan and they were still in…or I was still wearing them and people were pointing and snickering behind my back

Now, if we can just get the fabulous green coat back…
That too! I still have my green coat and last time I checked, it still fit!

Oh my goodness, that was “my look” too, loved it!!!

I hope that more people begin to wear rust again. It is nice to have a bit of difference other than everyone in pukiegreen–which I refused to purchase even for schooling!

From a practical standpoint, they stay clean looking. From a color standpoint, they look great on my palomino leopard POA. I wear mine at the local schooling shows. They are older On Course, but still in nearly new condition.

I still have my mothers brown field boots! I remember rust breeches, when I was young my mom told me only the more experienced riders were allowed to wear them. I don’t know if that was true, or if she just didn’t want to buy me another pair of breeches

Since it seems this thread has been resurected…does anyone have a source for Rust breeches these days?

Smartpak has some TS in rust, but TS doesnt fit me well at all!!

Try these:

My daughter has a pair of the Custom Riding Apparel breeches, and they are really nice. They also come in short!

or these:

I never tried these, but I love the picture with the brown boots. In fact, I love browsing the whole website.

Everything about this pic is so cute, I can’t even stand it!

Nobody wears puke green anymore, they all wear tan. But small numbers of people wear rust here and there which is nice. Don’t wait for everyone else, just wear yours.

Riding is fundamental - I think your mother was joking, we all wore rust in my day and none of us was very experienced.

Style is all about what you feel good in.

I was at a show recently and saw a lady in a green coat and she had plenty of blue ribbons in her hand. Another rider that was a trainer winning a lot of blues too was wearing a beautiful pair of brown boots. A lot of colored collared jackets. Seeing brown boots and brown helmets too.

Put in a good round and you just never know, you may even be noticed more with your rust breeches.
