I’m not a big fan of rust breeches in general, but I especially don’t like them when people wear them with the orange-y colored tack. Talk about clash of the trends shudder
If they’re good enough for George, they’re good enough for me!
…But I have yet to see an actual pic of the Ariat ones??? I checked their website, none to be seen there…
I think they are the hideous. I’m not going to lie.
I was really glad that they were not in style when I was showing in the early 90’s.
I think GM is the only person who should be wearing them.
Ok, so I ride a dark bay (almost black, but has the brown nose). I have a dark gray coat (almost charcoal), and white shirt that I usually use for dressage shows. I’m thinking that would look fantabulous with rust breeches
Well it’s about time.
What did it take 13 years to come back? My last hunter show was in '96 at Chateau Elan and they were still in…or I was still wearing them and people were pointing and snickering behind my back
Now, if we can just get the fabulous green coat back…
Love them always have always will. It is about time more people got on the boat. I have some that are over 25 years old and I am still wearing them! Lovely pony by the way.
So what are the thoughts on the rust All-Circuits, a mossy-green coat, and possibly a cream or pale yellow shirt…?
Complete with flat bridle and Prix de Nations, of course! (Not really… I don’t have those items, and I have ENOUGH tack!)
I would LOVE to rock a pair of rust breeches! I would love it if TS would make them in the Trophy hunter as another poster said. The new wide band and front zip is fab. I have yet to see them in the Dover store though…
Not to hijack - but has anyone seen a pair in any of the horse stores in Dallas?
How about a nice velvet collar to go with your rust?
I swear… you all are SERIOUS enablers.
RUST ariats? This would’ve taken me some time to figure out if you hadn’t told me about them. Bah.
Love the rust!

Okay, this will age me, but imagine if you can, beautiful mahogany brown coloured boots with rust breeches. We wore brown boots and brown helmets with the rust breeches in the olden days and it looked fantabulous!![/QUOTE]
I think that was back before cameras were invented.
just kidding - it did look fantabulous.
I used to have a Harry Hall with a lovely brown velvet collar.
Wish I still had it. Drat.
Glad to see rust is coming back because I wear them for cubbing and they were getting hard to find. If y’all don’t wanna wear them for show hunters - no problem. Leaves more for foxhunters!
o man!! Love this!! haha!! Made my night!!!

O man!! What the perfect duo. Rusty Velvet! This made my night!!
I’m a weenie, I plan to wear my rusties for schooling only.
Just as an FYI for anyone looking, Lori at Sunkissed Acres Horse Rescue has my actual, original, 1970s show jacket in her store - store is a 501©(3) so hopefully this won’t be considered an ad.
It’s a dark olive plaid (conservative) with rust striping through it and a black velvet collar. It was designed to be worn with rust breeches. IIRC it’s a size 14 and hasn’t fit me for decades, so I donated it.
If the rust really is coming back into style, this might make a nice budget buy for someone, and it would help the horses.
Gorgeous! And I just recently purchased a grey TB. I must have a new pair of rusts! [old ones don’t fit anymore, I’ve outgrown them ]

I kind of want it! Are there any pictures?
Rust is cute for hunters, but I would never dare to wear them in an eq class…
Seriously tempted to buy some for schooling. Hooray for stimulating the economy!
Sorry guys I’m another non-believer lol. Not even going to lie, I’m not a fan of the rust breeches.
