For those of you who feed Remission

Have you noticed a texture change? Typically my Remission is the consistency of ground flax (more or less). The last 10 lb bucket I got is like powdered chalk. I emailed where I bought it from, and AniMed as well. The company said that it has changed in texture and smell. I haven’t heard back from AniMed yet, but I’m still suspicious. That’s quite a radical change.

We are a distributor for it and have had several people comment on the same thing. No response from Animed on why the change.

I feed it to my three. I have not noticed a change yet (I got the last bucket about a month ago). I hope that with the change they will still eat it. Right now they gobble it down with their pellets without a problem.

I’ll have to check the bucket I just bought. No change with the bucket I recently opened, but I just picked one up at Tractor Supply.

I went and got a bucket at the feed store when I opened this one, and that one is still the old formula. I did see one comment on their FB page that someone’s horse won’t eat it now - and she has 2 10 lb buckets of the stuff.

I’m not real happy right now.

I emailed them a couple weeks ago. They said they tried a different source for one of the ingredients and it resulted in a different appearance. My horses are eating it without problems.

The new bucket I bought looks much more powdery. I don’t need it yet, but I’ll see what happens.

I thought I got a bad batch so I called the company and was told by the rep that the prilled form of mag was no longer available due to a distribution change. The rep said that the new source of mag is more bio available and it would be in the powdered form for now. She said that the company vet was working on the texture as they have had many calls about it.

That was over a month ago. I hope they figure it out as my horses and I about get asphixiated every time i dump my feed baggies.

I was just going to say the same thing… I will say that my horse is eating it just fine so I guess I don’t care. I always add a tiny bit of water to his food anyways.
