I either read somewhere or was told by someone that when buying a horse “know the horse or know the seller”. All four of my horse acquisitions in my adult years have met these criteria, & I have enjoyed partnerships with four of the best horses ever.

I would agree with this, but I’ll add to it. If your trusted trainer knows the horse or the seller, that’s also adequate.

Which explains why I am currently in horse/pony-buying purgatory. I have no “trusted trainer” at present…Is anyone who’s reading this familiar with Windy Hill Farm in Millersburg, Ohio? Their sales videos are the best I’ve seen, but the facility is 250 miles away. I don’t want to make the trip if the operation is shady, as some sales barns near me seem to be. https://www.windyhillfarm.net/
