She’s a reasonably successful lower level amateur competing against other lower level amateurs, on nice horses with professional training. She’s a good rider but it’s hard to see Olympic caliber there (and I say this as a mediocre lower level rider.)

No one who events for a living in the US makes even close to the money she does and most of them would probably happily switch jobs if they thought they could do it. (I would!!!)
OP joined COTH just a few days ago. So who else wonders if the above quoted Post #1 is for real?
Of all the ammys that the OP could have asked about, OP picks the sensationally newsworthy Stormy Daniels - really?
 Mixing margaritas while waiting for the other shoe to drop.
And it’s common knowledge that Stormy filed for divorce over a year ago…me thinks OP is trolling.
Just in case OP is not a troll and actually doesn’t understand how this works, here’s a short explanation:
Imagine you or SD or anyone for that matter really loved ice cream. You have a couple of choices on how to satisfy that craving. You could use your brains, get a college education, find a high paying job, and eat whatever ice cream you choose, wherever you want, whenever you want. You could also go a week without ice cream if you were feeling the Doritos instead. All the while, you could also pay for a personal trainer to work off the calories, a fabulous car to drive to the ice cream shop, and exotic trips around the world in search of the planets most amazing ice cream flavors.
OR…you could take the bus to the local drug store six days a week to scoop ice cream 10 hours a day for a free vanilla cone at the end of your shift. For years and years and years. All in the hopes that one day you will scoop well enough that you may be recognized for your talent and actually get to taste some Rainbow Sherbet…even though you are still going to ride the bus and scoop for the masses.
For 99% of professionals it is extremely long hours doing hard physical labor. Yes, it can be emotionally rewarding and you do get to have your hands on horses everyday. But it is not the glamorous life you see in the top 1% who “make it”. Many horse lovers would much rather work an equally rewarding job outside of the barn that allows for a comfortable lifestyle while still getting to enjoy all the benefits of horse ownership, training, and competition.
But she could have been such a nice girl is how I read the OP.
Exactly this.
This posted sounds like those memes you see “I had this bot analyze a bunch of bob ross videos and this is a script it came up with”. I’m not sure if this is a real person.
I think it’s a real person. I think they are trying to ask the question nicely. Regardless it’s a stupid question.
Off to admire some happy little trees and chill…
And if the OP really wanted to know about Stormy’s life, all she had to do is buy her book; Full Disclosure. It’s not a bad read.
https://smile.amazon.com/Stormy-Daniels/e/B07H9GL6K3/ref=dp_byline_cont_ebooks_1
This way, you learn about her, and her life, and help support her horses!
And happy little trees are great!
BINGO. Me too.
OP, if your prurient fascination is not satisfied here, maybe read her book or rent one of her videos. She IS a professional at what she does. Makes no bones about it. Move along.
Don’t forget that top Pros with International chops can get horses( they cant afford to own and campaign off their training income) sold out from under them. Even after winning a WC.
If you really love horses, it’s better to be an Ammy so you don’t have to meet deadlines or sell them to please their owners…who have every right to dictate what happens.
Theres been some weird first time posts on the forums last few days about people with P connections. One over on HJ now more suited to HSD or the tabloids. P being what got OT closed and some posters banned about a year ago.
Just wonder if it’s normal summer trolling or trying to slip P connections, past or present, in to get the pot boiling. Not sure it’s coincidence.
It falls into the false narrative that a person could only choose sex work as a living if they have absolutely no options elsewhere. Which is untrue and archaic. I’ve always found her to be very well spoken and quite intelligent, and feel that she would have done just as well in any profession of her choosing.
So there’s a viral photo floating around out there of a $38k check from ad revenue from a certain website that has an amateur upload program. Between debt and this expensive hobby, I’m seriously about to apply for said program and see if I can make even a fraction of that amount
You can buy some really nice horses for 38k
lightbulb
😂😂😂😂😂
Alas!! One must have something another one wants to look at. I’m waaayyy past that. Old, AND impoverished.
Listen, there’s all sorts of weirdos out there that are into various things. That’s the beauty of the internet
Also noting that OP did not ask about talented ammys generally. OP put one name in the title. That title and post #1 were NOT about ammys & pros. This was about the name in the title. I doubt the intent had anything to do with horses.
Wow, I am sorry I said anything. I kinda just wanted to say that I THOUGHT she looked like a pretty good rider and kinda felt sorry for her. Had no idea it was going to ruffle a bunch of feathers.
I did not understand what this Troll thing was all about, (now I do) but you all are welcome to come meet me and my mules at anytime (as long as your are not a weirdo). I am for real and not hatefull. I try to look for good and talent in everyone.
I actually think most of you are quite intellegent and probably take very good care of your horses.
Thank you. They all deserve it.
Do you all follow Steve Foster and Amazing Grace? She is great. Ha, ha! Steve visits nursing homes, children’s hospitals, and jails with Gracie. Glad he lives near me and does what he does. I love them.
