Forum Demographic Survey Results!
Don’t forget Thomas 1 and all those darned farriers…
yeah they make the barefoot threads a scream!!!

Is anyone else who took the survey having trouble accessing the site for the 3 month subscription? I e-mailed the webmaster a while ago and never got a response.

Well, I am glad to see the Tb still up there. I was one of those who grew up on them and yes they were a great experience but I also had a QH horse pony that blew my tb away!
I also live outside NYC and an income of 136,000 will not buy you anything! not even a closet…so forget a car…I have a frind in Arizona we do the same job but I make 3x what she does and she has an extra kid and has disposable income we do not…so income is relative to location, a dollar does not buy you the same elsewhere and that includes the price of board and horses too!
If only I could get my salary and live in Ky I would be so happy…

Heehee!

Mr Banner,

How does the BB demographic compare to the COTH demographics in similar catagories that are tracked?

hmmmmm

I live in California, live 45 miles from downtown “Lost Angels” ( intentional misspell), and don’t have $136,000 coming in!! I do have two horses, one a registered breed, and they live with us on our tiny 1 1/3 acre in the desert. We have to feed hay and no pasture, but my Arabian or my Arab/Quarter will still do the 30-50 miles we ride weekly. And leave those prissy TB’s and fancy over bred horses out in our dust. Out in the open chasing coyotes, or cutting cattle, riding over the buttes, or in the dressage ring with movement and extention to die for. But leave the care of my precious horses to someone else in a boarding barn? Not likely! I actually enjoy picking up and grooming, and the time I get to have with my “ponies”.
$136,000 a year? Not likely in my future working for NASA, or my wifes working for the Sheriffs Dept.

Steve on the Grey Arabian

( yep, another male here on the board)

I think the stat that fascinates me the most is Boomers w/ TBs!!! 66% of those who have ridden for 20+ years own TBs - topping the breed table by 6%!!! That’s pretty awesome.
Well it either means that we have gotten smarter as we have aged (I would like to think that) or we have gotten senile and think we can still deal with a TB

23% multiple times a day

theres only one person that i know that can account for the 23% mulitiple posts

last count on a perticular thread was 72 times x that and there you have your 23% average

I am a male and I live in Ohio. I feel totally left out even though I took the survey. I think I need a support group!
Somewhere, there is a link for special jockstraps that might help?
We looked at a tabulation after the first 1,700 surveys and then again after the first 2,500. The results remained remarkably stable.

Btw, if anyone took the survey and could not complete their order for the free, 13-week digital subscription, or experienced any other problems, PLEASE contact: webmaster@chronofhorse.com. They are happy to work diligently to deliver what you earned. All you will need is an email address, user name and password.
lolalola (and others) please contact the above email address again if you had any trouble with your free subscription, as perhaps your initial message was missed. If you don’t receive a response in a reasonable amount of time after contacting the webmaster again, send me an email or PM and I’ll touch base on your behalf.

I’ll also look into the question re: a comparison of demographic info for the BB and magazine.

Thanks!

Easier than I thought!

Here are the magazine’s demographics, for comparison, via the “advertising” link from the top of the page:

It’s not a one-for-one comparison, but it hits some of the highlights.

Really not certain why some people still feel the need to use the label “dumb blood.” I find it really offensive . . .

I would have considered myself an advanced rider several years ago. Pre-dressage that is. Now I know just how unadvanced - remedial, really - that I am  And it’s TOUGH trying to unlearn all those years of “advanced” riding that I was doing!

They didn’t have a catagory for ex-Advanced rider. For those of us who can’t get it together any more

I never received my online subscription! Who do I contact for that? Thanks!

Scroll up to post #108.
