Forum Spell Check Questions

I’m a self-admitted horrible speller, dyslexic and phonetically challenged. But the auto spell feature on the forum that underlines the words in red (thank goodness it at least does that!), often has no suggestions or marks horse related words as misspelled. Sometimes with just a single missing letter or wrong letter, it just can’t figure out what the word is. I spend a lot of time googling words to get the correct spelling. :o

Is there no way to add equine terms and horse related stuff to the master dictionary by an administrator? This would certainly be helpful. Words/terms like (just to list a few):

caveson
noseband
pelham
oxer
rolltop
cavaletti
navicular
laminitis

These types of equine words, when underlined as “misspelled”, to a non-speller like me, I have to look up, because I’m not sure if they are spelled right or not. (I have selected “add to dictionary” when I right-click when I remember to do so, but I usually forget - but this just adds them locally, for me, not everyone else)

There are worse things than having to look up a bunch of words, I know… It would just be nice if ya’ll added on an upgraded spell check app or added to the main dictionary. Us spelling misfits would be so happy if you did!

PS - if someone knows of a fool proof add-on I could use (besides sending Google all my typed text, which I don’t want to do), I’d be happy to give it a try.

That has nothing to do with the forum. That’s your browser. You can add whatever you like to the dictionary that runs that utility, though.

So the forum has no spell check feature at all? Interesting. I don’t participate on any other forum anymore, but don’t they typically have a spell checker built in?

No. I’ve never seen a forum that offers spell check. Spell check has been built into browsers for years.

Nope, it is your laptop/I-pad/I-phone you are using that has all kinds of spellcheck programs.

Go to settings, general, keyboard and there you can set your spellcheck.

If you have an odd mobil device, google it’s name and where to find spellcheck on it.

Your email program may also have it’s own spellcheck program you can click on and off.

Some spellcheck programs can also be set to do more than redline questionable words, like auto spellcheck, that changes the words and you have to tell it not to.
That one is an annoying one, I click it off.
