What dressage saddles are known for having a more forward flap? The most comfortable saddle I have ridden in for my leg position was a devoucoux, but they are not the best fit for my horse ( nor is it easy to get a rep out to adjust them). Any suggestions would be great.
The Stubben Aramis and Aramis II both have a more forward cut flap. Stubben reps seem to be plentiful and pleasant up here in the Northeast
My County Epiphany has a forward flap.
I think most saddles can be ordered w a forward flap? I got a County Competitor w a short, forward flap.
Just about all of them can be ordered with a forward flap so it is possible to find used ones with forward flaps too. They will be stamped as such. All of the County Epiphanies that I have seen (a whole two of them) were built with forward flaps and I have seen several County Perfections built with forward flaps as well. I have also seen two County Perfections with flaps that have Velcro so that they can be adjusted to the rider. You could not even tell unless you lifted the flap. As far as what dressage saddles have more of a forward flap as standard, I have no idea!
Laser Trident. I have a long sigh and the saddle fits me beautifully and Stir bar is in the right place. Unfortunately It does not have a point billet which I find my horse needs.
At one point I had a County Connection with a forward flap. Fit me pretty well, but not the horse. About five years ago I bit the bullet and ordered a Black Country Vinici with a short block and forward flap, and it was money well spent.
I also have a Kent and Masters with a velcro block, and can adjust that to make enough room for my ridiculous femurs even though it isn’t strictly a forward flap.
