I will say that the idea of returning 12lbs of terrorists (6 ebil kittehs @ 2lbs each) becomes attractive at certain point, so that helps with avoiding FosterFail.

Pro tip: only foster large litters!

Yes indeed! Sometimes those last few ounces are excruciating. I’ve had up to 10 at once. The poop!

What is it with kittens making so much poop??
I swear my 6 month old kitten makes more poop than my 2 older cats combined!

When I fostered the 10, I told the coordinator she lied. She gave me a herd of Shetland ponies, not kittens.

That was when someone gave me an old TSA bin to use as a litter box. I’m still using it

lol!! I feel that my DH is definitely projecting with the “we’re going to foster fail” thing haha. I’ve worked enough animal-related jobs that I’m fine with keep them for a while and send them on their merry way

I’m excited to get started though- the rescue let me know yesterday that my application was approved so we are working on setting up our quarantine area now and should be ready to go in about a week

That is so exciting! Please keep us posted With the required pics

Got my first set of fosters last night. 3 little stripey gray and white kitties  They are semi feral and still quite shy but this little girl couldn’t resist the toys

How fun. Get some of the creamy meat tubes, churu brand Or there are others too. I tamed our feral barn cats with it.

What a beautiful cat!

Update- I’ve had them a little over a week now and they are doing fabulously. One is still a little shy but is coming around and learning that I mean all the good things- scritches and treats and food and toys. The two girls are super sassy and getting very bold.

They’re so cute!

It’s so rewarding when the shy ones come out of their shell and start trusting. Way to go!

My former itty bitty orphan bottle baby will be 5 months old next week. He’s turned out to be quite the handsome young man. Still thinks he’s a dog though! :joy:
