Thank you.
Well the vet came out (I couldn’t be there) and they called me going which horse is it? This mare is walking normally LOL i’m like ummmm the one with all the duct tape on it’s feet. So, for some reason she was horribly in pain this morning but now this afternoon is acting like there is no problem…hmmmmm all I did this morning was give her 1 gram of bute in her food and NOT give her the Remission.

Could the Remission cause problems???

I don’t have the new xrays yet as they had other appointments and would call me when they got a chance to compare them later today.

Not sure what is up with her, but that does kind sounds like an abcess…however I’ll have to wait on the vet to call me to ask her if she saw anything that looked like one.

Abscesses can behave like this - make them 3-legged lame one minute, move just a little and be totally sound the next.

Remission didn’t cause or fix this.

Ok, vet said x-rays are much improved…YAY!
I don’t have copies yet though.
Vet thinks it might be that she’s developing thrush from being in the wedges so I’m going to treat that.
however I’m thinking abscess, when i was cleaning her feet it looked like there was a blow out on the edge on the bottom. And the inside of her wedges were kinda slimy (where before they were dry).
hmmmmmm.

I second that multiple abscesses are likely. Also remember that short/stressed/heavily grazed grass is going to be high in sugar. So if you’re mares are keeping the grass grazed short, it’s likely to have a high sugar content

I can’t see enough of the original pictures to see what’s what, but did the vet give you degrees of rotation than, and now?

I need to get them to send me a new link to the old x-rays, then I can open them on my work computer and get a better picture. I think in the beginning it was 8 degrees. The vet said they definately looked better and there was more sole. However the sole is flaking off when I clean her feet ( she was getting thrush so I’m medicating it daily).

Pardon my aging eyeballs, I can’t read the text on those pix. What degree of rotation for each foot now?
