As well he should have been. Glad he survived his ordeal and is able to pass his genes onto other generations

When the story originally came out, I had actually wondered how hard it would be to get the prize money back from the owner four years later. What if he had spent all of it in the meantime?

But it turns out they never awarded the prize money in the first place.

It sure shakes things up. From the prize money, to the Eclipse honors, to Smiths penalty, etc. And especially that winning moment. No way to ever get that back. No walk to the winners circle. But better late than never.

Without knowing many details, I also feel sorry for the jockey. He got Maximum Security across the line in front twice in the biggest races in the world, and got disqualified both times.

I wonder if he got paid his usual fee plus a percentage of the prize money for the Dubai race and then had to return all or part of it four years later.

It sounds like it’s possible he might get hit with a bigger penalty.

I just watched the replay and kudos to Midnight Bisou. She ran a terrific race, and he only beat her by a neck or bit more
But yes these things are a mess to untangle; but as said better late than never.
