That is worth cross-posting onto Off Course! Adorable! Thank goodness those people had the mind to bring him to a vet/rehabber (?) to save him. Is he old enough to leave mom? Couldn’t he be brought back to the den (if it could be located?)
If he’s old enough to get in that kind of trouble, he’s old enough to cope w/o Mom. Decades ago we rescued one that size that wandered into a friend’s Mom. Got professionals on the case who determined Mom was likely dead. We raised the little guy with as little human interaction as possible, found a willing landowner, and placed him in an artificial den with fencing after getting him some basic vaccinations. He was randomly fed some chicken necks, and when he reached a certain age, simply dug under the fence and made good his integration to the wild. He did, of course, miss the lessons from Mom on how to hunt, but we gave him the best shot he had.
