Hi all,
Newbie foxhunter here! Just went on my first Fox Hunt, and safe to say I am hooked!
Are there any online consignment shops for fox hunting attire? Any Facebook groups for fox hunting attire, especially consignment?
TIA

For about 20 years there was an email list called Foxhunters Online. It closed last year and has morphed into the above.
Also although coth does not allow sale listings as forum posts, I think wanted requests are ok.
Thanks all for the excellent suggestions! I was able to track down one item already You guys are the best!
Post your size and what you need!
I think for cubbing season, the only thing I am still in need of is a tweed jacket. Unfortunately, between Membership dues, and just coming off show season, I am on a really tight budget.
I really want:
1. Rust Breeches (Size 30 long, sometimes 32 if the brand runs small)
2. Tweed Jacket (Size 8 in RJ Classics [which is generous sizing].
More of a 12 in other brands). 38" bust.
But it is more of a want, not a need.
I am very fortunate in that the hunt I am joining is very welcoming and does not want lack of perfect attire to prohibit new members from joining or participating. I can hunt in my show clothes, I just really love the traditional attire and very much WANT to wear the beautiful, elegant clothes.
I have a lovely second hand canary vest coming my way, courtesy of a great FB find.
I would love to find Rust breeches in a 36 or 36L and would be happy with men’s breeches.
Would also love to find a black coat in 44 - 46.
Here’s another thought…got to Good Will or a general clothing consignment shop. You can often find tweed coats with a passable cut that, although they aren’t “rat catcher”, can get you by in a pinch for $.
I sent some stuff to SidesaddleRider (Devon Zebrovious) and a pair of men’s rust breeches is in the pile. I honestly don’t remember the size though.
I have found all my tweeds on eBay, sometimes designated as hunting coats, sometimes just used tweed jacket that were appropriately cut & sturdy. A man’s jacket from Goodwill and a bit of tailoring can be great Ovation makes a nice pair of rust breeches that are about $90. Not cheap, but not crazy expensive. Good luck!
