Foxhunting singles

Yes, it’s still off season…so they are running riot over on FOL.

There’s been some talk about organizing a singles meet-n-greet event for foxhunters who don’t love singletom so much.

Thought I’d post here, since not everyone is on FOL.

Is there interest for such an event?

Where and when would you prefer? So far, the focus seems to be holding it in the NOVA area, particularly Middleburg or Upperville. Some suggestions for the Master’s Ball in NYC in January.

Some have suggested opening it up to other sports such as polo…trying to think of ways to avoid the 200-3 female/male ratio.

Would love to hear of interest and suggestions over here…particularly “outreach” to those who either don’t subscribe to FOL or use the COH boards…and those who aren’t members of MFHA recognised hunts.

Yes, it is too big to ask, IME. I was hoping to “trade up” as I have sadly outgrown my current mount, but I haven’t found anything at all suitable. :sigh:

The hunt field is a lovely place to find a man. Mine rode up on a big white horse, in his scarlet coat, and the rest is history. Hunt ball was our first date and we were married eight months later. That was 14 years ago. Keep the faith!

If there’s a (relatively) good looking man, who hunts AND/OR shows, and who is single, they are snatched up quicker than you could say “tally ho”…

Often they will work their way through the single ladies before ending on a scandalous relationship with a married woman, OR…will steal a woman away from some other man…

Like there aren’t enough of us single ladies out there that just want a man who knows which end of a horse is which…give us one that knows a horse and they could take their pick of us…but the boys always want what they “can’t” have.

Silly, silly boys. Damn the odds. Dammit to hell!!!

Hmmmm, so mine could be used as “bait”? Will hang on until I can use him as a suitable lure or trade him to someone wanting something a little different. :winkgrin:

There are lots of men who ride with my hunt - trouble is they’re all either taken or doddery!!:lol:. But I would like some sensible conversation from a (straight) man in my life. I think that is what is too much to ask. If there’s good conversation, I can just about guarantee they’re gay.
