Foxton Farm show April

Just wondering if anyone has been to the Foxton Farm show in Romney, IN?
There is a show in April and was thinking it would be low key enough to get our feet wet-first time off the farm in months-kind-of-show before hitting bigger shows…but we’ve never been there, so was hoping someone on COTH would have some information. We haven’t shown our new guy anywhere yet and so want to see how he will do.
TIA!

My barn will be there. They have a really great schooling circuit, nice “community” and they also have a pretty decent concession stand. Perfect place to introduce a horse or get back into the swing of things. Foxton is about 30 minutes from my barn so anytime we have a new hunter we start him off there.

Thanks AA-my daughter tried the new horse at Lakeside (not sure if you’re familiar), but he’s just been on the farm for what will be 6 mo by the time this show rolls around and she had some troubles with him that she’s worked hard on. Just want to make sure he’s ready to go in some low key venues before hitting bigger shows. Concessions are impt  Sounds like this is a good place for what we want. Do they offer stalls do you know? We’d be coming from a distance and would need to get a stall unless we just do one day. Thanks!

According to past show bills that come up on Google, they are charging for stalls so looks like they have them. Check their website or FB page.

I trailered in for the day last April. It is a great place for a schooling show! The numbers are usually decent for a schooling show, especially in April when everyone is desperate to get back to riding outside. Everyone there is very helpful and friendly. I was the only one in one of the higher jumper divisions and they gladly put the jumps up at the heights I requested. I will probably be returning! The footing is great IMO and the courses are well designed.

They do offer stalls you can rent. You must let them know and rent ahead of the show. The nicest stalls are across from the indoor arenas and if they have a ton of people, will use another not as nice stall barn but they typically try to fill the nicer stalls first. My barn always hauls in Friday night for schooling/washing and stall Friday/Saturday night for a two day show. I believe they supply shavings but I can double check. The wash stall only has room for one horse so I always wash horses before we even come but if your horse is a stain master like the two I used to show it is a blessing.

One more thing, the Google Maps app always takes me to the next door neighbor’s place. Foxton is the only place with the big barns and arenas, neighbors only have fields.

Fifteen years ago when I was showing there, the concession stand grilled cheese at Foxton was second on my all-time grilled cheese list, right behind the Dairy Barn at the State Fair. They host a mix of schooling shows and rateds, and my experiences with management were always good.

Sorry for late reply-life got in the way haha…Thanks to all…for some reason my computer was acting up and I couldn’t access old show bill so thanks F8…and AA apprec your experience/update. hoping to make it up there. Will call them directly when getting closer to date re stall
