Frank Stronach arrested for sexual assault

So, so many of these are older men who are past their business prime.

That is horrendous! If proven to be guilty he should spend the rest of his life in jail

As recent as 2023. :grimacing:

You’ve got a good point…

I should have paid more attention instead of just reading the first half. Thank you for calling that out.

Even people with dementia don’t walk around raping people but I agree there is no way he had dementia for 40 years

I lost all respect for him when he dumped an aged stallion - Awesome Again, who made millions for Stronach/Adena Springs - on a charity organization. Old Friends takes great care of their retirees but it’s well known that relocation is hard on an old horse. Awesome Again died within six weeks.

I’ve gone from “no respect” to “complete and utter contempt”. What a vile individual.

I know, we’re at “alleged” status right now, but multiple charges make me inclined to believe that there’s more than a shred of truth to at least some of them.

My bigger problem with him, besides the OF dump, is the family’s tendency to follow the buck. They go “all in” on their interest du jour, then exit in a hurry with little warning or explanation, often leaving things worse for wear in their wake. They’ve done plenty of good at times, also made a total mess of things at other times. It’s hard to support that.

And now Frank has made it that much harder to support anything he has ever done with this news.

Actually Adena Springs has gone way above and beyond when it comes to aftercare. I don’t know of any other owner/farm/organization that has even come close to doing as much for their retirees as they have so bash him for whatever you like but for that is not accurate or justified in my opinion

Right.

They led the way in rehoming racehorses and aftercare. Much of what we have today is because of Adena.

But then they abruptly pulled out of it. Or at least shut down their own program. I don’t know what financial support they may be giving.

Which is also what they’ve done with their regional breeding programs. They invested $$$ in cash-strapped markets that desperately needed the backing and good stock… only to exit as quickly as they entered, leaving someone else with the bill.

Or dumping $$$ into the tracks they own, which is great, until they about face and shutter them.

OLD FRIENDS WELCOMES AWESOME AGAIN, MILWAUKEE BREW

I had no idea Adena/Stronach did that to Awesome Again at the age of 26 after standing at stud for 21 years for Adena Springs/Stronach Stables. That’s super sad. My neighbor had a lovely mare by him.

It’s disgusting that he has been doing allegedly horrible things to woman for decades.

I knew he was hopeless when he suggested that for the Sunshine Million at Gulfstream, the horses should be led around the paddock by women in bikinis. And when he tore down the old Gulfstream grandstand his vision was to have a place where businessmen could have meetings while their wives shopped at the mall he would make there. I mean, didn’t even occur to the dude that women could be business people at the meetings, or that the wives of business people might not just follow their husbands around all the time. Just a flaming idiot.

I missed the women in bikinis thing, or more likely forced it out of my brain.

No wonder Belinda hates him. (Not that I’m particularly a fan of hers either).

My Austrian friends couldn’t stop rolling their eyes about him trying to get into politics. They see him as a joke. A very unfunny joke.

Jingles for a solid trial. Strength to the victims.

Another six charges were filed yesterday. :flushed:

Yikes

Yes. There was a terrible auction in Hemet, CA a few years ago. Multiple mares that were in foal were dumped, along with yearlings. I think Andy Stronach bore significant responsibility. But it was part of winding down a regional breeding program.

A local rescue stepped up to buy multiple mares who were heavily in foal, and then safely foaled them, and adopted out the babies. But the situation was shameful on many levels.

A few COTH members stepped up as well.
