Franklin, TN?

I will be moving to Franklin TN (outside Nashville) as my sweetie has a new job there. I am assured there are horses and hunting in the area. Any suggestions about where within a 20 minute commute of Franklin to look for country rental housing? We are keeping our Unionville,Pennsylvania farm and probably bringing two dogs . I suspect the relocation guys won’t be oriented towards funky farm living, which is our preference. Also open to suggestions for finding catch rides once I am down there. I have contacted the Pony Club DC, and that has been very helpful. I am happy to help out on a farm that has a rental space.
Thanks in advance for any leads–tack stores, feed stores etc with bulletin boards…

You lucky, lucky, lucky dog! The hubby and I want to end up in Franklin, TN someday soon. It is heaven and you will love it. I lived in Nashville until recently and we’re dying to get back. We were there a couple of weeks ago and stumbled across “Bluegrass on the Harpeth” in the square after dinner in Franklin. People playing music, little kids dancing… so wholesome. Sigh

Anyway, the truly horsey set lives in Leiper’s Fork, which is just down the road from Franklin. You can also find land in Thompson’s Station, Spring Hill, Nolensville, and Columbia, all of which are a little further south of Nashville and within a 20 minute drive. 65 can get pretty crowded headed into town, so keep that in mind when you’re looking.

Will he be working in Franklin or Cool Springs?

Area hunts are the Hillsboro, as Equibrit recommended, Mell’s, and Beech Grove.

PM me if you want more info. The restaurants in Franklin are fantastic and Nashville is a great city.

It’s a lovely area, the #1 hunt is Hillsboro, but Mells and Beech Grove are also fun, active groups…being from PA, I am going to say you might best enjoy Hillsboro’s hunt country.

Several farms board hunt horses, Winner Circle is one of them and they ship a load for hunt meets if needed. They are just outside Lieper’s Fork: nice facility, with some areas to get out and ride, and are knowledgeable about hunt horses.

PM me with specific questions, I have lived in Franklin for almost 20 years, in the horse community, and will be happy to help.
