OMG  I bought a horse from Fredericka Wagner! https://www.wkyc.com/article/news/lo…e/95-614244232
I read about this the other day. Seriously disturbing.
I have been reading about those murders but never connected “those” Wagners to Flying W Farms. In the 60’s when I got my first Arabian I was warned off of Flying W Farms by the breeders of my horse. Apparently they had a dicey reputation that far back.
The whole case is seriously disturbing.
I see they picked up one of the suspects not too far from where I live. Creepy.
Well it sure shows a lack of long term thought on the part of the murderer(s) if the whole thing started as a result of a child custody dispute. The child now has no mother, a jailed murderer for a daddy and the rest of the family appear to be lacking a moral compass as well. Disturbing on many levels.
My former barn owner works at Rood and Riddle and was a couple feet away from the one guy that was hiding in the horse trailer when they came to arrest him… what an insane story.
Not just any child custody dispute, the child apparently the result of a statutory rape when the mother was either 14 or 15 (the ages in the article don’t totally match up or make sense, maybe because some of the people have aged in the meantime). I’m not sure why the dad would have any custody in that case, unless it was one of those situations where a much younger teen dates a 20 something and the family is okay with it even though the law is not. (Not saying that’s ok, but we all know it happens.)
I think the child’s mother was 19 when she was murdered. So the child was about 3 or so then.
What a profoundly disturbed family across generations. The two parents not only wiped out the mother of their son’s baby along with her family, they wiped out the lives of their sons as well, into a legal system that may not let them go for the rest of their adult lives.
I wouldn’t bet on the parents trying to take the blame for the murders to save their sons. Given their decisions so farm, more likely they will do the opposite instead.
I suspect these murders were less about legal custody and more about a power mania of one or more of the family that did the murders. They not only went after the mother and her entire family, they also managed to control their own family into participating. I doubt everyone in the family spontaneously thought of the idea to murder the other family, all on their own. More likely some one or two of the family wanted to do this and were able to manipulate and control the others. Just wildly speculating based on a little reading.
This is seriously scary. The extent that they went to commit the crimes. Fredericka was a “good Christian” who taught Sunday school. https://www.dispatch.com/news/201811…SIOFCY73p3GfqA
I guess they spent their free time binge watching “The Godfather”. Scary scary people with no soul.
Today’s tidbit on these people is their involvement in a 2 year double murder in Northern Ky, in the Cincy metro area, young couple basically executed, their children unharmed. Cops suspected a connection but something was revealed in the last few days that has allowed them to publically comment on similarities. Possibly related to the fact the family members are locked up in seperate jails (Pike Co doesn’t have one) looking at the death penalty. Generations of drug trafficking and assorted illicit activity and reputation for fraud in that family…police even found forged documents awarding custody of that young child to themselves last week when the compound was raided.
Leeson here is know who you are dealing with. Far out in the boonies these people were, seems every police department from Lexington Ky to Columbus Oh knew them for many years.
Huh. I bought Wonder Pony from them.
The possible drug stuff? Makes so much sense. Something definitely didn’t seem right, but I ignored it.
On the day I was supposed to wire money, Fredericka called me and said Angela had quoted me the wrong price on the mare. Suddenly, Wonder Pony is ‘one of the best horses’ they’d ever bred and worth way more money.
Interesting. Then why weren’t you taking better care of her?
Anyway. I told her no deal and walked. She called me back ASAP and said never mind, we’ll take the original offer.
