I am offering a free breeding (no stud fee paid) to my imported Section B Welsh Pony stallion, *Wedderlie Mardi Gras LOM/AOE. He was imported from Scotland shortly after winning a championship at the Royal Welsh, the largest Welsh show in the world. He then came to the US and won two National Championship titles, and had a prolific show record in the breed ring. His winning get have earned him the WPCSA’s Sire Legion of Merit, Sire Award of Excellence, and he is the 2010 and 2011 WPCSA Sire of the Year, beating out all other Welsh stallions.
His offspring are winning in hunters, English and Western Pleasure, Trail, Pleasure Driving and Carriage Driving. They are easy to train, easy to get along with, beautiful and excellent movers.
HOWEVER… I would really like to see a foal from him out competing in dressage. And with someone who would keep in touch!!!
I’m looking for:
Someone who is interested in creating their own large pony or small horse dressage mount, and interested and able to compete the resulting foal.
This person would either own or lease a quality mare for this purpose.
This person will have a vet that is experienced/qualified to breed a mare with shipped semen.
This person would either be qualified to train a youngster, or have the means to have their youngster started by a quality trainer.
This person would be in a location where they are able to travel to shows.
Accepting this offer would obligate you to be very willing to keep in touch with regular e-mail and photo updates on your foal. Of course I realize I have no way to “police” this, but I am asking that applicants be realistic regarding whether or not that is something they are willing/able to do.
There would be no stud fee involved, only collection/shipping fees to worry about. His semen is top notch, and he settles most mares on the first breeding.
You may respond on this thread, or feel free to send me an e-mail at: gretchen.aitken@gmail.com Feel free to ask questions.
I would like to hear about you, your riding experience and goals, possible mare (a photo or two please) and what your dreams and vision for the resulting foal would be.
