Yes it’s craiglist, but the kid is wearing a helmet and the owners are being honest about their pony and what home is best for him. May or may not be broke to drive but a bargain either way!
Awww, what a beautiful pony. It sounds like he is in good hands. I hope he finds a nice home. Someone on this board wrote that the only thing better than a Hackney is two Hackneys.
Were I independently rich instead of independently poor, I would probably collect
a few more to play with all day.
He nice, but a hackney like that is a dime a dozen in Indiana. I could point you to several that are already broke & safe, without the background check on the prospective owner.

Red Mares is right, though, with all the Amish communities in Northern Indiana, hackney ponies are easy to find very cheap. I would bet that this one was broke to drive at some point.
If he would make a great resale project, but the owner says “flippers” need not apply. Silly, if someone could put the time into him to turn him into a show pony and sell him to a show home. But it’s nice she wants to protect the pony, too, at the same time.

I have two cute hackney ponies we rescued from a starving bad place. They are healthy now, shots, dewormed, etc. Just need a new home with someone who will train them. We’ve had a saddle on the older one and ridden her. No bucks, bites, nothing. They are head shy but we think they were abused. They jumped right in our trailer and are adorable when they trot!!!

I would hope that if this were an actual adult and not a child posting pretending to be an adult, that they would have more sense than to ask for a green hackney pony or a green asb mare. Goodness.

I’m a party pooper. Your daughter is 14 and “loves Hackneys and loves to train them” and also loves green ASBs as well. I have a hard time believing you are unable to find a free, unhandled, green pony or horse in your local (current…2015, not 2012) Craigslist.
