Free Tree

There have been a few treads recently about trees and what to plant, this free tree program is by the Arbor Day Foundation and Freshpet’s Nature’s Fresh

one (1) free one-gallon potted tree

This program is designed to guide homeowners in planting trees on their private property to maximize all the benefits that trees provide.

The process to order a free tree takes about 10 minutes and involves finding your USDA zone.

Also, the Natural Resources Department under the USDA and in the same offices as your local Farm Service Agency has programs, at least here, offering trees to anyone that applies, trees that work well in our region.

Our state’s department of environment and conservation offers as many free native tree seedlings (about 12 to 18”) as you would like every spring. So maybe check out state agencies as well.

Last year I got two wild plums, two red mulberries and two hazelnuts. This year I’ll be getting more.
