While I’m performing normal functions on a thread (reading, replying, liking), I have been receiving a message that reads “You are not permitted to view the requested resource.”
I then have to press an “Okay” button in order to resume reading, etc. Is this problem specific to my account?

It seems to be happening across the board. I was replying to a message about 30 minutes ago, and I could only manage to type a few words before getting the message, having to press OK, then typing a few more words.
It hasn’t happened since then. A couple of days ago, it seemed to only be happening when I hit the like button, but since then, it is happening at random times.
If you continue to have problems, I recommend logging out of the site, clearing cookies for the site and logging back in and then see if the issue persists. If that doesn’t help, please let me know!
