Hello; Any thoughts on jumper stallions in the USA that are also good movers? Not a Registry Book limited question. I have been out of the loop and so many new faces (and the familar ones are long gone.) TIA
Dressage movers or hunter movers?
Rising Star has a few that move very nicely. Con Capilot moves very well and is producing nice hunters (I think he may have a few offspring who are doing dressage as well? I think I remember some from a USEF search I did a while ago). Chicardo moves well. The dressage breeder where my mares and yearling live likes how my Casquino filly moves a lot (dam moves well too, 7s and 8s at her inspection, but I think the filly moves better).
Redfield has some hunters stallions that move well.
Carmargue at Tallin has a lovely canter with very good scores overall.
Citadel has a great canter too.
Those are off of the top of my head quickly. I’ll come back as I think of more because I know I’m missing some nice ones.
Thanks, thinking more dressage movers —mare I have in mind is a big mover-with good jumper mare line–but I am thinking the likelyhood of getting a top jumper is always small --even if breeding to a top jumper. Plus she is such a big mover herself and I would hate to blunt that, but do not also want to kill the jump. So hedging. (I know hedging never usually ends well!)
Viscount has been imported by Dreamscape and I believe is available fresh in 2023.
I second Viscount, another with beautiful movement IMO is Contiano BF
