FSS bridles? Or something else? Sorry, another bridle thread!

Another bridle post! But Boxing Day shopping is coming

Has anyone had any experience with the FSS bridles? Good, bad or ugly?

Failing that, I’m looking for a nice padded snaffle with crank and flash for under $250max… I’m good with patent, horse is a 16.3hh warmblood and doesn’t have that refined of a head.
Any suggestions?

TIA

I have an FSS bridle and am quite happy with it. Soft leather, well made, fits nicely. No downside in my opinion.

I know some people have had quality control issues with their bridles.

But I have one that i’ve had for 6 years now and it’s held up great. It’s comfortable and good looking. I also have some FSS parts for my other horse–an anatomical noseband that I’ve put on another bridle and I keep meaning to just replace the whole bridle with an FSS one. the noseband leather quality is great and they were able to give me custom sizing on the noseband–a cob noseband but a pony sized strap

Bobby’s Bridles have served me well over the years. They are high quality for the price. I have jumper and dressage bridles from their line.

Do you find that it fit true to size? Horse usually fits a full or warmblood - should I order the extra full size, or is the full fairly generous?

Thank you! Is the sizing pretty standard? I can’t seem to find any measurements

Check out Lumiere. Also, the Joseph Sterling line from Schneider’s is really great quality for the price. I think they only have one or two snaffle models, but if it’s what you need, it could be a good bet.

I have an andalusian with a refined head and the full is almost too big. IMO, the sizing is generous. I have found the customer service to be amazing. I sent a message saying what I wanted - crank with no flash, anatomic and brown patent on black - received an exact match.

I did look at lumiere but couldn’t find one with a crank…

I will echo that they are very easy to work with! I messaged and was sent measurements of the bridles and when I was in a somewhat in-between spot they customized a piece for me at no additional cost (though it did mean I had to wait a few weeks–which i was happy to do).

I’ll also vouch for the Joseph Sterling brand sold by Schneiders. It’s English leather. Very nice for the price.
