A friend sent me this link today.
Sounds like hounds and humans had a great time.
The article also mentions a facility that works with/teaches herding dogs.
Enjoy.
eta: The video is pretty funny.

Thanks for sharing. Elvis is adorable.
You know, my Violet border collie turned out to be a surprise found treasure. Somebody abandoned her in Myrtle Beach (we guess - a policeman friend found her running up and down Kings Highway and searches for her owner proved fruitless).
When I agreed to take her, I did a little breed research on the Netz and got hooked up with a border collie trainer. The first time in the round pen with actual sheep, Violet ate sheep poop and refused to even glance at the sheep. But six months later, I had a friend take her in the round pen and she really turned on.
As a housepet, she’s kind of a squirrely girl:lol:, but she’s got tons of natural talent as a sheepdog.
I guess Violet must have come from working stock, though - I understand it’s a trait that’s very easily lost if not carefully bred for. Looks like the same is true for hounds.
What a Wonderful Idea!
That sounds like so much fun! And what a great way to not only introduce the concept of hound sport, but let the owners have a great day with their dogs in the country. I took my little “terrier” mutt to our hunt’s puppy show and put him in the terrier race. He was last. : ( But at least he eventually ran behind the group and didn’t just run to me! Embarassed parent.
