Our fun classes were a huge hit with both Jr. and Sr. riders!
Down to the last drop: riders had to hold a glass of water while riding…including walk, trot, canter, sitting trot, sitting extended trot, halt and back up…tie breaker had to jump. Won by a very determined Field master!
“expert huntsman” included walk, trot and counter canter, halting and keeping horse halted for whip crack, blowing hunt horn and pouring a stirrup cup on horseback (whipper in and field master used own flasks with giving judges samples)…winners…the youngest rider on the smallest pony as she immediately excuted a counter canter and made the best horn noise…2nd was also a Jr rider…and those in last. whipper i and field master as they couldn’t make a sound from the horn…sportmanship and the flying comments had our judge comment that she wants to judge more of the fun classes next year!..and we already have people plotting how to win the “non-riding” spouse lead line class. I told him I will be back next year! C.J. is going to teach me and my silly Arab to jump this winter and we’ll be back for a rematch next fall!
