Fun spinoff- Endurance and CTR folks, what's your color scheme?

In all honesty, one think I like about trail/endurance/ctr is that you aren’t stuck in a drab and stiff wardrobe
Pretty much every item of tack, grooming supplies, trailer accessories, etc are purple or black. So what’s your color scheme? Do you change it if it doesn’t match a new horse or does each horse have it’s own color?

I love having colors! My sorrel & white paint was Burgundy & Black. When I got my black Arab I moved to royal blue. Now with my chestnut Arab is a mix of blues and turquoise - the blues from what works from the previous horse and the turquoise as the newer stuff that had to be changed to fit. I told him when he proves himself to be an endurance horse I will give him his own colors :stuck_out_tongue:

However, I do find no matter the color horse I prefer a black saddle lol

I don’t really do endurance and only did one CTR but I trail ride quite a bit. I also event so for jumping can have some fun with colors.
Finnegan is a grey/white pinto. I use purple for him.
I bought a new OTTB, Carson, in late March. He is a bright red chestnut that clashes with purple. I have mostly been using navy or royal blue for him. I have some turquoise I use for both of them.

Love all the color options. My horse tack color is orange. I keep my saddle and pad just plain black, with orange accents on bridle and reins. And I usually wear orange too when riding, so we’re coordinated. In the rest of my life I can barely dress myself.

I kind-of fell into the orange, I had an orange halter for my first horse, a gray. But otherwise he had green tack. When I got this horse I used the old horse’s halter, people commented that it looked good, and I wanted a new color for a new start, so orange it was! Now everyone knows “my” stuff at the stable (and my trailer has orange hubcaps, becasue you might as well!)

Sure can relate to the stiff wardrobe - all my foxhunting attire is testimony to a strict dress code! Now retired from that ancient sport, but still have the clothing and tack. Guess the nostalgia runs too deep for me to get rid of all of this no longer used stuff.

My endurance tack is polar opposite. I have several sets, but my go-to sets (bridle/halter combo plus breastplate) are both high quality Taylor Tack items - one set is royal blue (for the chestnut Welsh with lots of white bling), the other set is lilac purple/white for the bay Morab - a hand me down from my Decade Team endurance horse who was a gray Welsh/Arab.

My clothing now matches the tack - breeches, shirts, jackets, gloves, even down to my running shoes. So does the clothing for the horse and riding pony. Color coordinated sheets, rain blankets, winter blankets. You name it. Nice because if the blankets are tossed in a heap, I can tell at a glance which blanet belongs to whom.

Of course the driving pair are the exception - they have matching everything, so their stuff has to be marked as to which pony wears what harness/clothing. I have an embroidery machine that gets used pretty heavily for making custom IDs for stuff belonging to the pair.

I tend to have a ton of PINK! I didn’t plan on having my girls wear pink but it all started when I bought my very own Lance truck camper to go to the events. I was just getting out of a relationship and originally went with neutral colors like red as to not offend my ex boyfriend. As soon as we broke out I started busting out pink EVERYTHING considering this is a time in my life where I can get away with this lol. I have a pink comforter, pink sheets, pink saddle rack, pink grooming bag, pink buckets.

My first endurance mare Annabel, who was also my former show jumper and eventing horse, told a horse communicator that her favorite color was pink. Since I was getting away with the more conservative show jumping style, I decided to deck her out in pink even though I think she looks better in red considering she’s a bright red bay.

Then I bought Harley, my TWH mare who actually looks fantastic in pink. She also looks outstanding in gold/coppers because of her liver chestnut coat and flaxen mane and tail. I am starting to buy things like halters, fly masks, and blankets with those colors. However, I am ordering all black tack with brass hearts to match my saddle and her name is Heart-Throb Hotel. I’m switching over to more conservative tack because I have a few IG accounts that like to reshare my ride photos but they prefer a more classic look.

Royal blue! My gray Arabian cross has a blue saddle pad, a blue and black bridle, blue and black reins, and blue bell boots. His bridle is a biothane halter-bridle combo from endurance depot and they can be ordered in many different colours.

With my grey mare, we’re all about the royal blue!! I do draw the line short of blue riding tights though - otherwise I might look like a smurf.

Very nice! Blue on a gray horse is one of my favorite color combos.
