Furst Romancier

![]( am in love with Furst Romancier & the horses he’s producing, I am however a little concerned that none of his progeny (that I can find) seem to be old enough to have ‘filled out/matured’ and even though I like their build now, i’m wondering if they will turn out ‘chunky’. I was wondering if there was anyone that has seen how heavy his progeny turn out when crossed with TB type mares?
Do you think my mare is light enough to breed with him? (she’s only 16.1hh. Breeding is anglo x Jazz - yep, she’s spicey)

I saw a beautiful four y.o. gelding by Furst Romancier recently, and loved him. He was quite tall, but not heavy. At the Hanoverian licensing there was a Furst Romancier half bred that was beautiful, and very nice, modern type. I like FR a lot too, and would someday like to breed to him.

I think I just read on Euro News or something like that about the recent stallion approvals and the 2 FR’s were not approved. Could just be not
a good match w/the mare of course or they had something that was just not what the GOV was seeking.

FR will usually add height and substance/bone, but I haven’t seen any of his offspring be “too chunky”. They are tall, long legged, elegant movement with good bone. But without being huge/overly wide chest/wide barreled types. He can produce a shorter croup but they all seem to use their hind legs well and step under. He isn’t known for necessarily producing a quieter/calm temperament. Most offspring I have seen/dealt with have good temperaments, very friendly and interested and smart, but also can be a bit distracted/energetic and can be a handful at times and perhaps a bit “spicy”

At the Hano. Verband inspection three were presented, and two were approved, the half-bred I mentioned, and one out of a Londonderry mare was a premium.

Thank you. I have noticed he is bred a lot to the Sandro line. Is this likely why his progeny can be a bit of a handful?

In my opinion, it’s a different kind of “hot” than I see with the Sandro Hit line. I find the Sandro Hit line can be a bit “moody”, perhaps lacking in work ethic at times. . . The FR’s I have seen were happy overall but spicy and powerful and could be a handful, more in a goofy way but could require an experienced rider/handler . . .out of a variety of dam’s (dams from sons of Sandro Hit/Stedinger/Sir Donnerhall, dam’s from R-line, L - line, holsteiner/TB lines) . . I think it’s more of the Fuerst Heinrich coming out.

He, himself, is not the easiest ride (a big, strong stallion to ride and I’ve only seen him under a male rider), however, very talented and schooling nearly the whole GP at a young age. However, a son of his, For Romance, that I have only seen in videos, seems quite rideable and performs happily at several stallion shows under Kira Wulferding - looking like a very fun ride!

I have one FR now three that I have always thought to be talented for GP but will reserve judgement until he is undersaddle. For sure the most unsettled of the dam’s previous foals by Rohdiamant, Wynton and Sir Gregory. Was not impressed with his FR sons at the Oldenburg Korung but that could also be said for Dante Weltino and Fuerstenball…though I loved the Fuerstenball/Rohdiamant (-: For Romance was amazing in hand…very nice under saddle. Time will tell as it always
does (-:

Thank you for your replies.
Does he seem to improve their shoulder at all?
I too like Furstenball, but am not overly impressed with the majority of his progeny (unless bred to a power house mare, which I do not have).

I used FR on a Trakehner mare to give me a little more bone and strong topline and he did both. He was always one of my favourites at Scokemohles, had a very quiet relaxed aura about him in his box. I would use him again for sure.
