Future Riding Vacation in England

I plan on traveling to England and northern France summer of 2023. Part of it would be non horsey, but I’d like to do a horsey stint. Are there any Brits that do training as part of a vacation tour. A friend of mine did something like that with Greg Best in New Zealand. I’d be willing to do a non-training trip too, but would rather do some lessons.

I’m hoping to visit the UK in 2023 too!

I saw this on This Esme’s channel on YouTube and it seemed unique and fun:

Horse Riding London - Riding Lessons in Hyde Park, Central London | Hyde Park Stables

Not sure if this is what you’re looking for, but a few pre-covid years ago I did some hacking out of White Horse Equestrian Centre in Westbury, Wiltshire (about 45 minutes from Salisbury). They also did lessons – and the countryside is gorgeous.

DH & I did this Hyde Park ride (from the same livery) back in 2001.
It was a lovely ride, nice horses, just us & 2 young guides.
They provided boots (paddock) & helmets.

Lots of options. It might be worth looking up the BHS (www.bhs.org.uk) “Where to Ride” list of approved stables as each will say what they specialise in and even if they don’t say they run short courses many will put something on for you.

Years ago I spent about a week riding at the Yorkshire Riding Center and really enjoyed it. Its run by the Bartle family … so they have an eventing perspective. Nice facility and very nice people. I just Googled them and they have both a website and a FB page if you’re interested in investigating if you’ll be in that part of England.

Really enjoyed riding at Jill Carenza’s Cotswolds Riding and staying at her B&B. We did lessons, riding out into the hills (including some of the gallops for training Cheltenham racers) and even a ride to a Pub for lunch.
