FYI - Universal Sports live streaming is great

Disclaimer: I have only watched the first 20 mins so far of the dressage.

Just wanted to pass along that the quality is great - no ‘buffering’/hitchiness to the feed and picture is clear. Commentator is decent and you can hear Brian O’Connor in the background.

I paid the $29.99 for the full package and as long as the quality is this good throughout, I think it’s well worth it.

It should be free like during the 2008 Olympics!!!

Why should it be free? It costs money to produce, and there is not a lot of advertising or anything.

At the olympics, dressage in particular is such a minor sport that the networks don’t really have any interest in broadcasting much. I agree, the live feed was awesome! But, at the WEG, dressage is one of the more popular sports and there is about .1% of the viewership of the olympics, so gymnastics and track and field advertising can’t cover dressage live feeds. I think $30 for 65hrs of coverage ($0.46 per hour!) is totally reasonable, especially if the quality is high (even though I’m not paying for it).

I have tried numerous times to register at universalsports.com. I keep getting a “registration error”, with absolutely NO hint on what the problem is. I am filling in all required fields, have entered the security numbers correctly every time, and still cannot register. Needless to say, I am NOT impressed. Whoever designed their registration app needs a remedial course in UI design.

Does anyone know if Universal Sports Network is available through DirectTV? Or is it only online?

Thanks!

universal pkg ?

What does the 29.99 package on Universal cover? I can’t find any details other than it says 60 hours of coverage. What are they covering during those 60 hours?

I think some people can get it as a local NBC channel, but it does not seem to be on DirectTV, which is a pity. I’d love to have them, because they cover the minor sports that I like.

My connection is too iffy to make streaming terribly practical.

I’m loving this!

I am at my niecies’ and imagine she will get tired of me in the next 10 days or so. Fortunately, she is at work! And she lives close. Her computer is spectacular! It looks so cold there!
Is everyone agreeing with the scoring? Some of the things I can see, but I thought the Finnish Horse was a great mover. Can’t believe she didn’t get into second.

thanks phaxxton! -no msg.

thanks

Can you watch it any time?

This may be a dumb question, but can you watch it anytime or only while its goin on. I’m home today but otherwise work and I don’t want to pay $30 if I can’t save it and watch it later. Thanks

Anytime I’ve ordered it, it gives you 30 days to watch it later.

I signed up yesterday and am looking forward to watching this evening. Think the price is reasonable considering not being able to watch at all.

Does it keep obnoxiously asking anyone else “are you still there?” then kicking them off and making them log-in again? Yes, I am still here, I’m just trying to $%#^&! watch!!!

No stream this afternoon? Is it just me? :frowning:

I’m playing “live” and just getting a replay of this morning. This is going to get ugly as soon as I figure out it’s not just because I’m a fritterhead.

OK, you have to select First Half, Part 2. God forbid you try to translate “Live” to mean, you know, LIVE.

THANK YOU!!!

And now I’m having CatchMeIfUcan’s problems.

For a site that streams video’s for a living, you’d think they’d be better at it. Once I get on, it’s fabulous.

yeah, me too

I accidentally stumbled upon the live feed. I kept getting out and re entering, then I guess I saw AFTERNOON session, and I had missed half of Todd’s ride:mad:. But Now I Know

Don’t you LOVE the focus on the horses body during Piaffe? And the slo mo of the half pass? Good job to the camera directors! It is moving along but I hope there isn’t another one hour break today:eek:
